Christmas Table

When it came time to set our first Christmas (Eve) dinner table- the first we’ve ever hosted- I knew I wanted to switch it up from the decor we’ve had all month and the Thanksgiving tablescape I did last month (Let’s be honest, I could’ve changed it several times, I had so many different ideas and such excitement for the season but I reigned it in and only purchased stuff for two separate scenes!).

When I found these placemats, I had my vision. I loved going from a mostly rose gold and copper with navy accents setting to an ivory, black and green one- it’s so fun to completely change it up! I don’t do much black in my decor (Hello coastal living!) so this was such a nice, unexpected departure.

I knew immediately I wanted to use these black salad plates and, in lieu of place cards, write everyone’s names on them with chalk marker. The best part about that is, if you mess up, which I did many times, you can just wipe it off and start over! The hazard is, if you’re OCD like me, you have to know when to quit and put the pen away!

It’s so fun to change up the flatware too! And it really makes a difference. Loved these black settings, also from Hearth & Hand at Target! I used this ribbon (love some plaid at the holidays!) to tie my white napkins together and stuck a bit of greenery in there to compliment the centerpiece.

I loved using greenery down the table, especially since our tree is in the same room, it had a nice flow. And I swapped out the copper trees for these gold, black and white ones. Love me a ceramic tree!

I also swapped out the pale pink pillows that were previously on the banquette with this patterned pretty that matches the placemats.

Everything I used is now on sale! So if you see anything you like, stock up now for next year!
