Bald Head Island

Speaking of Brooke, when she invited the girls down for a few days away at her home on Bald Head Island, North Carolina, the only questions were how soon could we make it happen? And who would take our kids?

Amanda and I both left our toddlers behind (they’ll blame us for that later) but she brought baby Paige. Brooke had Gray there but called in reinforcement by way of her adorable and patient (to put up with us, not a toddler!) cousin Betsy.

It was a week well spent-  ocean air, refreshing cocktails, gorgeous settings and great company.

There are no cars allowed on the island so you ferry there and golf cart, walk or bike everywhere. It made for such a peaceful, relaxing (and safe!) stay.

Our hostess picked us up with wine waiting and gave us a tour of the island.

Old Baldy is the largest, still-standing lighthouse in the state.

I loved all the beachy blues.
